Portfolio Development - Humanities
I have held a number of scholarly communication roles from managing editor to director, squarely situated within the humanities and social sciences over the past 15 years. Now working in portfolio development for Routledge, Taylor & Francis and co-convener of the Publishing and Publicly Engaged Humanities group, I am interested in how we make connections within and across the research ecosystem, support our portfolios and researcher communities to develop model publishing practices that capture the diverse array of outputs and make a difference to how knowledge is preserved, disseminated and created anew.

Scholarly communications, including publication in books and journals, plays an important role in the career progression of scholars whereas making the essence of humanities scholarship clear to a public audience is often not considered as a significant factor in a scholar’s promotion. How can our publications capture and connect all of the work that engaged scholars - and their public partners - do and that often goes underserved and under-recognized in current structures and systems?

Join us on our public humanities and publication journey! Contact me for more details about what we have planned or to chat about your projects and how we might collaborate. You can find us H-Commons here: https://hcommons.org/groups/publishing-and-the-publicly-engaged-humanities/
